Single exposure capture at around sunset just off of the bluff trail of Montana de Oro. The location is photographed often but I rarely see it in black and white and in the infinite confines of a square composition. The dynamics of the clouds in the west and long exposure to smooth out the rough and hard tide of MDO and various shades of color in the foreground layers made it ideal. I achieved a 20 sec shutter speed by attaching my Hoya ND400 and kept the exposure balanced with my ND8 (soft) Graduated filter. I "under-exposed" by a couple stops to keep my picture darker than normal so i could make more adjustments in the processing, which was done solely in Nikon Capture NX2, then opened up in Photoshop to add the watermark.
