The hills have turned golden now in most places in California and around the coasts the fog is rolling in. Thats what was happening last night when my friend and i were exploring the golden crests north of Avila. The fast moving fog coming inland over the Irish Hills challenged me to take out the filters and start capturing some long exposures. Can you see the faint stars in the upper right corner? The sun still above the hills but the length of the exposure brought out stars that were not yet visible to the naked eye. This almost looks like an infrared shot but is a monochrome processed in Nikon Capture and Photoshop.
